BUDDHIST BOOK CLUB

The Buddhist Education Committee is hosting a Buddhist Book club beginning in January. The book club is open to the Sangha and members of the public. The first book to be discussed will be Ocean by former BCA Rev. Ken Tanaka. The book offers practical answers to basic and common questions we have about Buddhism. See why the book has become an instant classic of sorts in presenting Jodo Shinshu to Americans.

The first book club will be held in two parts. The first session will he held on Saturday, January 21 at 10 a.m. and will include registration, distribution of books, and discussion of the main components of the book.

The group will rejoin Saturday, Feb. 11, again at 10 a.m., to discuss the book further. The sessions will go to 12:30 p.m. Note: A lunch is provided on our final day, Saturday, Feb. 11.

NOTE: If you have ever wanted to learn more about Buddhism and have your most basic and complelling questions answered, we heartily recommend the book, Ocean. We especially encourage our Dharma friends who are thinking about joining the temple to consider this book club.
